We have moved from being an FET college to being a TVET college! And the change is all about you and ensuring that we keep our fingers more on the pulse of the economy and to ensure that, we among other things, partner more with the economy and industry for your sake, as our primary customer and focus! It is not by accident that we have become one of the biggest colleges in the country! That is probably what has also attracted you to the college! Whether you will be starting, continuing and, or completing your studies at the college in 2017, that will make the year a profoundly special one to you personally. This will be the fifth year in which the college will have been encouraging prospective students of the new academic year, to apply for registration at the college in November of the year before, in this case, We know you are joining this college in 2017 with a personal dream of your own. ), which we are very excited with is the fact that, for four years in succession we have been sending our Top Ten Students and Top Educators on a fully-paid trip to the Netherlands, just for them being diligent and hardworking and making our Top Ten college-wide! And the results of the college’s students have been improving in leaps and bounds for the past five years, so you are joining a well-lubricated train that is in motion! Notwithstanding our commitment to your learning and the guarantee of a high quality education environment that we make to you, we cannot adequately emphasize the role that needs to be played by you in your own education! Your lecturers are your most valuable education resource. Among the lessons learnt from our past experiences, is the fact that it is students who attend their lectures punctually and regularly, who pass their courses and that poor attendance of lectures invariably leads to failure. Needless to say, these students failed, most of them, dismally! In the last four years the college experimented with a Computer Literacy course for all full-time Engineering students enrolled for N-courses and unfortunately, the students themselves did not fully take advantage of this offering. The SRC is held in very high esteem at the college and we hereby make a plea to all students to view the SRC elections seriously and elect students who will help take the college forward and put learning first! An obligation is put on all those who become associated with the college to promote this principle and tradition in both word and deed. You are encouraged to make use of the Internet café at your campus to surf the net to get more information about your subjects and to send and receive e-mails.
